Mostly to escape their problems or a bad situation they can't live with anymore. Usually it just makes things worse. Pray for your friend. I hope she/he'll come home soon.

People run away because they feel they can't tolerate their living conditions anymore. Sometimes they are running away from an abusive home, other times they just don't want to follow their parent's rules and think it will be better on their own. Running away rarely fixes anything, and usually just makes things worse. Your friend needs help to deal with whatever is going on in his or her life. When you see your friend, give this number to him or her 1-800-999-9999. It's the Covenant House's help line. They specialize in helping runaways and troubled kids, and the call is free.

Don't care about runaway from you, just care about with you that will help you to be happy.

Your friend probably feels like nobody cares for him/her. Maybe he/she has a bad relationship with his/her parents.
