Well my own idea of why it's expanding so much is .... When "THEY" (being the failed politicians of their home countries) force upon us the referendum for a new constitution (AGAIN) they will NEED a minimum of 20 countries to vote YES to get it ratified, which means they can call it the E U a country.
Unlike the first time where upon 18 countries voted YES, OF which 17 of those countries were political referendums where the people did not have a say in the fate of the country in which they were born.
So to sum it up the MORE political votes they get the better it is for them.

I think the EU was a great idea but I also think things are going to fast. We couldn't agree on anything where there were less countries. Shame really, it would be nice to have Europe as a super power instead of America leading the way (to total disaster).

It will stop when the project is complete - a United federal Europe from the Atlantic to the Urals, it is the only way Europe can have world influence by being a united political, social, ecomomic and political unit. Unity strenghtens us all.

it should create a level of standard across the EU and allow for easy travel and trade, but i think somewhere along the way its lost the plot and is more about forcing French thinking and German ideas to the rest of Europe.
