If done properly a belief in Santa can be turned into a lesson in selflessness and the joy of giving.
A man who works all year long, with a workshop full of volunteers, for the sole purpose of bringing gifts and happiness to everyone else. Santa is the embodiment of selflessness, a way to demonstrate the concept to children who are not old enough to truly grasp the concept behind the word.

I'm not sure there's a real downside to believing in Santa Claus, especially at a young age.
Nine years old seems too old to believe, but most children figure it out somewhere between first and second grade.
Most children who believe love believing in Santa, and most children who no longer believe enjoy being in on the secret.

The belief in Santa, the Easter Bunny and the tooth fairy are a wonderful part of childhood, and I have heard no reputable child psychologist site any harm.

what's next, are you gunna gown her up in a employer suit and instruct her the thank you to construct a resume?? She'll finally study on her own that Santa isn't genuine alongside with all the different creations made up for infants to have faith in. misery loves company, yet why drag your 5 12 months previous daughter into the reality you're patently unhappy with the early existence you had.

To bring the joy of adventure to them, Yes there are Santa's out there for real .We just help them out .
"You" must be a taker and not a giver to feel as you do .
I understand you not excepting a gift at Christmas if you don't believe in Christ .Because that is what it is all about .
I hope you live long enough to change your mind .
Merry Christmas .and a hearty HO HO HO!!!

Because it shuts them up and gets `em off your ***. Who cares it keeps the little brats happy. They can get their share of gloom and doom when they grow up.
As for the no jesus part I'm an atheist but I believe it best to let them develope their own religious beliefs.

i feel kids have to grow up fast enough these days...let them cling onto something that is a little hopeful, although highly unreal, i mean, before you know it, there is exams, and arguments and peer pressure, let em enjoy being young and naive. but pick the right age to tell em about stuff. there is a certain age where they should have to grow up...and nine is a little early to shatter their dreams and scar them for life. 12 is good though.
