There are levels of comfort as far as bongage goes.
Some are only barely curious and do so completely unaware there is a whole community of BDSM who understand the emotional aspects of these practices.
Sadly, sometimes with tradgic results.
I would ask anyone who's interested in bondage or domination play, to please check out some community sites before deciding if this is truly an area one is curious of.

That is too personal a question. Some like a single scarf, others yards of rope so you can't even move a finger while being blindfolded, ear-plugged and gagged.
The answer is really the one both you and the person you play with like, which is safe for the bound one.

You should be comfortable no matter what the type. I personally prefer being shackled.
