President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said those who backed the U.N. resolution, drawn up by Britain, France and Germany but supported unanimously by the Security Council, would soon regret their "superficial act".
"It is a piece of torn paper ... by which they aim to scare Iranians ... It is in the Westerners' interest to live with a nuclear Iran," the semi-official Fars news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
"Give up this muppet game. You (the backers of the resolution) cannot send secret friendly messages to us and at the same time show your teeth and claws. End this dual game," Ahmadinejad was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying in a speech at the former U.S. embassy in Tehran.
Chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, reacted swiftly to the vote.

"We will start our installation activities (of 3,000 centrifuges) at the Natanz facility from Sunday," he told the Kayhan newspaper. "It is our immediate answer to the resolution and we will go ahead with full speed."

And why exactly would Iran respect the UN resolution? It has a perfect example that nothing happens when countries don't apply what UN says:Israel rejected more than 70 resolution and no one does a single thing to enforce them to apply them.Israel got away with murder because of it...So why some countries have to respecte the resolutions and others don't?
And yes,the countries who voted the resolution may regret if Iran suddenly decides to stop sales of oil.Sooner or later Iran will play the oil card and everyone will regret it...

This leader is on a power trip ! My fear is that the UN will not enforce its resolution per normal. Iran knows this and has acted accordingly. This is yet another move in the worlds chess game with Iran and North Korea. My hope is that the rest of the world has the stomach to back its resolution against Iran. My fear is that it doesn't. This will only give Iran more time to accomplish its goal to destroy Israel and anyone else who does not allow it to pursue its mission. It also knows that if it just buys some time, the US will be ran by a more passive President, and it will get anything it wants from us then. This is the objective in Iran. "Wait until 08 and then we will infiltrate".

And yet people still believe that the United Nations has power in the world. Tyrants do not respect the UN because the UN is useless and ineffective. This is what happens when you pass mandates but refuse to enforce them. Much like the Boy who cried Wolf, when the real threat appears no one will listen to you.
At some point the world will be seriously forced to deal with Iran and I suspect that when that day comes Iraq will look like a cakewalk by comparison.

Ahmadinejad is really smarting. If the UN could stand united against him one or two more times, he will probably self-implode and we will all be free of him. Wouldn't it be grand if Iran could vote in a decent leader for a change.

The "supreme leader" Khamenei and his government can and will be crushed one way or another, this clown is not even elected he has declared himself president for life! it is completely unacceptable for the Iranian government to have nuclear armaments as the risk is to high of them dominating the region through intimidation, they have threatened to annihilate Israel...who else does not fit into their plan? I for one believe in human rights for everyone..too many cultures have or would like to take us back to the dark ages...women's rights no way, Christian or Jew? you are gone or dead many Islamic republics do not allow Jews case in point Saudi Arabia, homosexuals? hunt them down and kill them! just recently in Iraq a religious law "fatwah" was lifted that permitted murdering gays,I ask everyone is this how you would like to live? this attitude is threatening to spread like a cancer, one hundred years more or less they could be conquering your country, nuclear proliferation must be addressed and hopefully all nuclear armaments will be eliminated, stand up to what is evil!

He needs a dose of reality.
He runs around shooting off his mouth about the destruction of Isreal and Muslims conquering the world .
He arms and supplies terrorists, in and out of Iraq,
Does he really think nobody has noticed ?

Somebody's going to drop a load of crap ,right down the back of his neck.
