If I want to invest dollars I go to the bank first, but where do I go if I want to borrow some lives to invest?
Do you think Rice would mind if I invest HER life? Do you think she will have a good Christmas? What about the “lives”, or their families, will they have a good Christmas too? Is that kind of cold hearted, arrogant, insensible, inappropriate way of thinking and way of talking typical American or what?
And I am not saying I am in favour or against the invasion of Iraq, that is not the issue here.

“USN”, no I did not misinterpret her opinion. And yes, I remember many things like the Vietnam, and Pearl harbour included. All Americans fault.

"W W D", BUSH have very strong convictions too, that is why he escaped military service AT ALL COSTS VERY FAST!

If she cared just a little bit about the “lives”, she would NEVER say that, not the way she said it; IS THAT SIMPPLE!

"USN", Europe is composed of many TOTALLY DIEFERENT Nations(but Americans don’t have the IQ to realize that), Portugal is not a stupid us state with only less than 200 years old, you are nothing but remains of British fugitives from the law that escaped to the Americas.
Just stop conquering Hawaii and other Imperialist policies all over the World, and no one will retaliate like in 9/11. Remember Hitler, America is the Hitler now. This time I used spell checking(Do you speak any other language or only English like most American ignorants?), that means this time I am right in my ideas. You US-Trash.

One of Americas strongest assets, our military, should only be implemented to protect us. Instead, they were sent on lies and conjured facts to lay their lives down to protect the "investments" of corporate America.

The winner for "Best Documentary" at this years Tribecca Film Festival was made by soldiers currently in Iraq. They stated that "our goal of spreading democracy is the last thing on our to-do list, our first and daily goal is to protect halliburton projects."

My guess is that this is the "INVESTMENT" rice finds worth the lives of Americas military.

Hey vidigal you have a "simpple" outlook on geopolitics do you not know how to use the check spelling option? ,"Worth the investment" I interpret this statement as saying we address this problem now and unfortunately lose some of our troops or pull back let things fester for a while as Clinton allowed then we go back into an escalated situation and lose a greater number of troops to eliminate the threat, we lost about 650,000 as a Result of WW2 and a grand total of about 50 million worldwide, what if we had stopped the Axis powers early on? we must address the Islamofascist now! I really think you misinterpret her opinion, does the typical American have to be dragged into war when it is late in the game or a disastrous provocation occurs? remember pearl harbor? you have no grasp of history and have no facts Americas fault? you are not only ignorant but a yellow coward, you think you would know better living next door to a Fascist nation for so long...remember Franco? you euro-trash!

"And I am not saying I am in favour or against the invasion of Iraq, that is not the issue here. " Who are you trying to kid? It is obvious that you are not in favor of the war from reading your opening statement. Do you think it was worth the "investment" to defeat Hitler and the Japanese in WWII? What keeps getting washed over and apparently forgotten is that we are fighting an enemy that wants to end our way of life and impose thier way of thinking on us. This has been clearly stated by osama bin-ladin. Terrorist organizations and terrorist states are funding the groups that are fighting against us all over the world, not just in Iraq. When will you folks get it through you heads that these are the same people that trained the bastards that flew the planes on 9/11? They want to kill americans in great numbers. I am not making this up. They have made more than one public statement to this effect. They want to kill you, you kids, your country. Wake up! We can't play nice with these people. If we withdraw from Iraq, bring the troops home, do you really belive these terrorists will just go away? This would only encourage them and attacks against this country would increase. Anyone stop to think why we have not been attacked at home since 9/11? It's because we are keeping the terrorists busy in other parts of the work, keeping them off balance. They will try to hurt us again. Look at the recent plot that the British stopped. The terrorists were going to blow up several large planes full of innocent people as they were crossing the atlantic. This had been in the planning stages for years. It would be a good change for you to get angry with the terrorists that attacked and killed three thousand of us on 9/11 instead of spending time being angry with the government that is trying to fight them and keep them from hitting us again. I doubt that very many of the government people in washington have kids serving in Iraq. Thier kids are in private schools or college. Remember, the young men and women fighting this war are not draftees. They are not stupid. They know that when they enlist, there is a good chance they will see service in Iraq. Many of them go back for another tour because they want to. You don't see that on the news, do you. All that gets reported is when 1 soldier out of thousands decides not to go. Then, its a big story. I think history will show that it is worth the investment if we keep fighting to win. I am talking as a veteran, having served for 10 years in the Army, in a combat outfit.

You are right, neither her life nor her money is involved in this fiasco, I have been against the war from the beginning, it has absolutely nothing to do with the war on terror which will be won only by using intelligence and not by force. In case anyone of those that are pro war are interested, we are losing Iraq. A change in course is definitely needed and while Bush is playing lip service to it, I do not see any changes other then putting more good American lives and money at stake and that is like throwing good money after bad. The solutions lie in building striking forces and not in occupying forces in the middle east, we also need to bring friendly nations on board to help us in the global fight. This is only going to happen when we stop occupying country's and instead go after those that are involved in trying to kill Americans.

Answerman has the best response to this question. What is interesting in regard to the anticipated 20K to 30K "Surge" in additional Americans that will soon be required, is that I don't see any of the loyal Bush supporters running out to volunteer for this duty.

I asked the same ques a couple days ago.

It is interesting how these people in the White House are quite glib about "investing" other people's kids........not to mention Iraqi lives.
If this is the battle of good and evil they say it is, why aren't more of their family members being "invested"?

You are saying that you are against the war in Iraq. Could you save some of your hate filled comments for the people who continue to blow themselves up along with other innocent people. As a world leader , the United States , like it or not, has a responsibility to lead in this war against terrorism. Iraq is not a pretty situation, but, if not there where would you fight it ? War comes with sacrifice no matter how to spin it. The investment is priceless in order to win. I will continue to support any effort to protect us and eliminate this attack against freedom.

Of course it's cold. That's what we pay her for. I don't know if she would go, but would guess so. We don't get many oportunities to know with certainty about these things, but neither do we have to look back very far to be certain of some. Look at George H.W. Bush at Chi Chi Jima. People with convictions do tend to be willing to back them up, and she seems to have strong convictions.
