Its more socially acceptable for women to wear jewellery, and on the whole, us ladies are more in to accsessorising and wearing pretty things. Plus, I'm sure alot of guys wouldn't want to recieve a gift of jewellery from another bloke as they'd think he was coming on to them! Most men are very paranoid about thier sexuality.

Also, jewelry is an investment in the long run.
Should the financial picture ever get bleak, we have something to fall back on that could keep us going for a little while.
We'd have to fall onto some really hard times and probably have to have children to support before we gave up our jewelry, but we could do it if we had to.

Jewelry is popular with women because they want the bling to attract men. Men are more practical and they buy the jewelry for the women who they court. It's all in the genes man!

This isn't my joke, but a black American comedians (sorry forgot his name) which is funny (to me) and involves jewellery:
His partner expects him to get her jewellery, so he says, "Not unless your really talented and then swallow".
Then he says to the audience (which the women boo-ed him a bit), "See now you all women are checking each other out, and thinking Damn she must be Goood- that girl there with the big rings, necklaces and bracelets".
I guess you had to see it. But the joke is there is a correlation between what a woman is prepared to do and how she gets rewarded with jewellery.

Jeweley can be popular with everyone. But I also will agree and say that it more popular with women because it makes us feel pretty. When we women strive to be pretty, wearing jeweley is a must. If you really feel like it, start your own trend, Maybe then men will like jeweley too!!!! lol
