Because
1) there are still a lot of Fools who have not yet been 'parted from their money'.
2) there is one born every minute
3) lots of people still believe in 'something for nothing' - and are prepared to pay over the odds for it :-)

Business has its uniqueness, you might wonder also what the hell is going on with a person who purchased $3,000 of Channell Bag or $1,250 of a bottle of wine??
Some might go for it, some might not. The difference is left between whether you can afford it or you cannot afford it.
