i tried playing some game on the ps3 but none of the worked. actually the contents of the ps2 game in not recognized under game section. However they contents of the game appear as folder in the music and movies section. still cant play them of course from there. these games used to work on ps2. the ps2 was modified to work any game. can you tell me whats happening

u know when you opent ps3 there are several menus like music movies game internet etc.. any ps2 game i use on the ps3 console is not recognized under game and therfore i cant play them. however they are recognized as folder under movies and music secions so the console read the cd contents but the dont recognize the format or tell it is a game.
can you explain why please. the ps2 i had was modified to play anygame.

Yes, i have heard that PS3 does not read some PS2 games. You should have gotten something better like Nintendo Wii or even XBOX 360.

When I had MLB 08 on PS2 i was playing on Hall of Fame mode and now I can barley squeez out a win on rookie on '09 for PS3.

I don't have a PS3 but I read that it will not recognize all PS2 games. Perhaps that's what's happening. Here's an article"

Good luck. I'm a diehard PS fan but because of this I will be buying a 360 when the time comes.

It might be that your ps3 cant read ps2 games with a blue back. try ones with a silver back. But of course it could be vice versa even though the new ps2 games are silver backs. Heck,even try ps1 games if you have them.

I wasn't aware of this problem. One of the biggest selling points to me is the backwards compatability, so I'm glad I didn't plan on buying one anytime soon.
