every family has some sort of "dysfunction". Some are just worse than others and the ones who seem perfect usually have things going on that no one talks about.

Yes, all families have problems, but I think "disfunctional" is a pretty strong term to use in general. If we were all robots that thought alike, then life would be so predictable. Though I don't like drama, sometimes it makes life a little bit more interesting. Disagreements, do not necessarily mean dysfunction. Even my family seems so screwed up sometimes. In general, I grew up in a happy family, but sometimes I think about it and wonder why some of us fight so much, and don't have much contact with each other. Different lives, different interests, different locations. Lots of reasons. We are all grown up now, but certainly not the Brady Bunch! Life is tough and throws us some curve balls. Some people handle the stress better than others, and unfortunately sometimes we take it out on our families.

I feel better thinking everyone's is a bit messed up in some way. Even those so called picture perfect families have something probably worse off than most of ours. At this point in my life, my friends have become my family - that's how dysfunctional mine was.

You don't say why you think yours is dysfunctional, but in broad terms I suspect at least one family member out of most families suspect theirs is. Mine is way off the charts...I also think and believe that since we as people, aren't "well oiled machines" that something is always going off kilter at some point..The real question is how it affects you on an emotional level, and what you can do to make yourself feel better about it...Without the waves the sand isn't a beach but a desert.

Every part of my family is dysfunctional. My immediate family has issues (my mom cheated on my dad with the neighbor, she ended up marrying him, and now he is abusive). My moms family has issues (my aunt was addicted to heroin, and has a son that she has convinced him he is schizophrenic), my real dad's family has issues (ex: my aunts won't see each other anymore). My step dads family is just weird. My boyfriends family has issues, he does not talk to his sister or him mom anymore.

Anyways, from my own experiences, i think everyone family is a little dysfunctional, every family i have met has some issues. No one is perfect.

I think all families are somewhat dysfunctional, because families are composed of people, and all people are somewhat dysfunctional. Nobody's perfect.

Nope, I'd venture to guestimate that 95% of the families are dysfunctional in some way.

Mine is. I think most are because it's a clash of personalities that are similar to yours. People don't usually get along with others who are like them. The best part is that theyre family though, and you can forgive them easier, right? Hopefully!
