I have Mercedes Benz 1983 200 (carb). In the following answer:

I got to know that I may have a clogged PCV valve but still I couldn't locate it in the car!!! can someone help me with that?

It should be on a small hose going from the Air Filter to the carburetor

Just a little FYI............PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Vent.........not valve. And yes, has to be between the valve cover and the air intake (vacuum makes it work) it is an inline ball check that allows pressure from the crankcase (bottom end) to be vented to the intake thus reducing the pressure in the area of the pistons, rods,and crank.

Most PCV valves are attached to a vacuum hose from either the intake or carb. More than likely, it should be plugged into the top of your valve cover.

that's on the right of the valve conceal gasket - hit upon the thickest hose going to the air purifier or intake manifold (that's ~3/4" D), on the engine element, that's related to the PCV valve.

Professor gearhead is right the PCV (positive crankcase valve) should be located on one of your valve covers. They will always have a vaccuum hose connected to them and they plug in the valve cover.
