If its true then that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Next they are going to make us have a licence to have a toilet.!!

If you had a radio only, you would not need a licence. For anything else that receives television transmissions you need a television licence, this includes computers therefore I don't see how mobile phones would be excluded. The licence is per household not the number of television sets you have. The definition of a household is basically a family unit. If you had servants (and who does these days) or rent out part of the house on a commercial basis, then, these people would need their own licence. Hope this helps.

No at least i don't think so. Even if you have more than one tv in your house one tv licence covers all your tv's, so u should be ok.
It would be pretty hard for the tv police to monitor though

As far as I know you can have as many tvs as you want on one licence so I would assume this would include your mobile.

Yes but the one at home should cover it, did you know you need one for your PC as well if it has a TV card, of course only if you don't have a TV

It is one licence per household, unless you are living in shared accomodation where you have nothing to do with your housemates (eg. bedsits). Then you need one each!
