Move to Norfolk, it's compulsory there.

I think you're both old enough to make your own decisions and undertand the consequences. They don't necessarily need to be negative repercussions but the odds ARE stacked against you. I'd say take it slowly and let time take its course. There are many answers here that take a negative stand - but they should get off their high-horses. They know nothing of your history, the experiences that you have shared and so on; and they seem to forget that there are more lonely, sad people on this planet than coupled, happy ones.

What I say may be construed as not 'politically correct' - so what?
The Royal families (as just one example) have been marrying cousins (be them distant or close cousins) for centuries. I condemn incest, paedophilia or any of the other disgusting crimes that blight (and destroy) some unfortunate, dysfunctional people and families (these people should be executed in my book) - but I don't see a relationship with a cousin as incestuous. Just difficult, different and full of outside prejudices from less open-minded (perhaps less-happy or even jealous) people!

Act in haste - repent at leisure. So give your relationship time to develop (or not) before even thinking of embroiling family, friends or anyone else for that matter.

I should not worry about what anyone else might think. It is yours and your cousins thoughts that matter. If you truly care, then go for it. There are no statutes debarring such a relationship. Families may react in different ways, but any feelings of disdain will quickly disappear once they realise you were truly made for one another. Good Luck and Merry Xmas to you both.

Who cares what the family thinks, just shag away and be happy.
It is certainly NOT illegal in any way in Europe, incidentally.

As you are a little bit older I'd seek professional advice before making any babies though. Although that is perfectly OK too.

This whole thing happens a lot more than people imagine!!! personally I'd keep quite about it for a while but nosy female relatives will almost put 2 and 2 together before too long anyway

Getting into a relationship would cause a massive rift in your family. I don't think it is such a good idea. Chances are the advice that you are given on here wont effect your decision. So if you do still go there be careful. How does you cousin feel about this?

Some research has recently been completed into a community in England where marriage of cousins is common. it found a much higher incidence of rare but serious illnesses amongst their children then in the population at large:

You may wish to consider this and take advice.

Are you considering a interview with the "Jerry Springer show"???? Shame on you !!! All the azz in the world you could get and you have chosen to turn to your own blood...that's sick!!!!! You need to break away from your cousin...move to another state and find another. What if you two have kids? They could be born retard or mentally insane. Don't be an inbreeder!!!!

frankly speaking it is your life and you can do what you will with it....but you definately must way the pros and cons of what you would be getting into...number one you are related..by common blood with brings many branching problems such as-what if you were to go through with it and break up...cant get rid of eachother ever.....number 2....incest is a major no no....socially or emotionally....but if you think it will work it is your decision...but personally i dont think it is a good idea due to all the family connections and ties you have with eachother....i think it is best to stay great friends as well as relatives

If you're first cousins, this is illegal in the States, so you wouldn't be able to marry. It's legal in the UK and Europe, so it kind of depends where you are.
