Last Christmas was quite strange, though good in its own way. My Grandma was really ill with leukemia - they gave her a few days to live in November, but no one tells her what to do, so she hung in there until April. Anyway, we packed up all the presents, and spent the day at her house.
It was really good, because the kids really excited, and everyone made such an effort to make it a special day. But it was kind of strange too because we all knew it would be her last Christmas.
She was really happy that day, and she sat at the head of the table as we ate Christmas dinner, sort of taking the time to look around her.
It's going to be really strange without her this year, I think that's why I don't feel very festive.

As a child, our Christmases were everything a child could dream of. We were given SO many gifts that the entire holiday was lost because we are so focused on what we were getting. I am now married to the love of my life with 2 young boys. We dont even exchange gifts with each other because there is no gift you can buy that would be better than the love and friendship we have for each other!!

Mine was years ago in Germany because it it was a nice blend of the old and the new. It was snowing and one Christmas Eve we went to Midnight Mass (my first) in a beautiful old German cathedral, weather was cold clear and perfect, when we came home everyone got to open one present. On Christmas day we had a big turkey dinner with my new in-laws who came to Germany from the States to visit for the first time.

With my dad and brother. We decided to start with cocktails rather early- we completely forgot about lunch but had the giggles all day. The turkey was the size of a sparrow and the vegetables were raw- so we had sausage rolls and ketchup instead.

That is so romantic. My best Christmas was when I was younger. I wanted a barbie that was soft and you could cuddle with her a bed time. I kept begging my parents all year for her and on Christmas, I unwrapped a present and there she was in my hands. My parents gave the idea to my late grandparents(my mom's parents.) I still have her because she reminds me of them.

My best Xmas was the first one I spent with just me and the kids after my (now ex) husband had left - I thought I had gone deaf, there were no arguments and the house was just soooo peaceful lol.
