House on Haunted Hill
The Blair Witch Project
The Eye (Chinese)
Actually if you're looking for some scary movies and are bored with all the Hollywood ones you should try asian horror movies. They're usually really scary but have better storylines as well.

"The Last House on the Left" is one of the most demented movies i have ever seen, if you are looking for a cookie cutter horror movie than just take the advice of the other posts in my opinion...also "Henry portrait of a serial killer" (there is another movie about Henry also, and its title is similar and that one sucks so get the right one) is disgusting too, and since its based on true happenings it makes it all the more scary

The Descent is the best horror movie i've seen in a while. But Exorcist is classic and so isn't the highly overlooked Poltergeist, which is my favorite. But if you're into reading subtitles The Eye is freaky.

The Hills Have Eyes the unrated version is a great horror movie. It actually has a decent storyline, but a lot of disturbing stuff

Well, a movie called Black Christmas is coming out on Christmas Day.
Also HOSTEL part 2 is coming out soon in 2007.
Also Grind House is coming out soon in 2007. (Grind House is two movies actually. One directed by Quinton Tarentino, and one directed by Robert Rodrigas, but they are going to be shown together when released at the movie theatre.)
And many many more. You should go check these things out on the internet, hun.
Good Luck, Have Fun and Merry Christmas

I see Steven King rated "The Descent" as the year's best horror flick - he probably would know! Will have to make a Blockbuster run this afternoon.
