We have 2 bunnies, 1 male, 1 female and I noticed the male nibbling on the female. Whilst cuddling with the female one today, I noticed she has several near-bald spots of really short fur. Is this natural?

It can be caused by stress or a vitamin deficiency in the diet. Are they all housed together? The housing may be too small, or maybe they aren't getting enough exercise. Check with your vet about diet etc. and try to give them new activities to alleviate boredom.

Some rabbits seem to fixate on grooming a particular spot, one of mine will only clean the others eyes and she's actually quite rough. If you've eliminated underlying causes, such as matted fur, mite, pregnancy etc that may make her overgroom or collect fur, you should try to discourage this behaviour. One it's not very good for the groomee to be losing fur and two it's not good for the groomer to be ingesting such large amounts either.

Is your female pregnant? Rabbits pull fur out to line their nests, if shes spayed the male is probably just being abit over the top in his grooming technique!

they can do this but its not the best for the other rabbit, my suggestion would be brush a gentle spray of water and lemon juice over the fur, it will not harm the rabbit but will put the other one off from licking it.
