In short, YES! Although it's not been anywhere near as bad as stock shortages of other consoles when they were released. Stoppages and hold-ups on imports from France (thanks truck drivers) didnt aid things any though.

No way, Nintendo Wii is awesome. However, the PS3 was bad because:
1. it was delayed
2. people were hurt just by waiting in line to get one
3. they are way too dam expensive (600 dollars for that piece of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
4. the games are too expensive (60 to 70 dollars!!!!! that's ******* ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
5. some PS2 games do not even work on it.
6. It just plain old sucks.

absolutely not

they made more than a million units in four months

they sold it with enough space before the end of december to help build desire

the release of the system was very calm - comparitively

the fact that it's hard to find only increases the local/word of mouth advertising
