Yes and it would be great because we'd get new ideas for a change

Well, yes.

I mean, I can also imagine a world without oxygen, I have a vivid imagination. On the other hand, the American economy is very adaptive. Within days of the disappearance of Hollywood, a new entertainment industry would spring up somewhere. There's money to be made, and someone would step up to make it.

It would be great to have a world of entertainment not controlled by purveyors of porn and filth; and we would hear and see less of the egomaniacs with their suicidal drug and booze addictions with marriages that last on average 1 year.

With screwed up lives they try to tell world how to feed the hungry, manage and govern countries; how to handle military strategy and how to manage the environment; all the while they dine on $200 dinners, lose millions in divorce settlements, fight with each other on and off camera, and promote a society of promiscuity while driving SUVs or sports cars and flying around in private jets.

Then they want to do an HIV/AIDS concert or fund drive in Africa after spending millions on diamonds covered in African blood.

When they feel really bad, they then adopt African orphans from parents who died from AIDS or diamond mines.

It would be a nicer world.

Yes, it would be a much better world.

New ideas and creative integrity would prosper more, as would films not in the English language.

Also, there would also be more respect and reverence for the people who deserve it, not the talentless stars and the simplistic money men.

No. it would be sad. As much as I hate alot of their films they have made some of the most wonderful movies. For pure escapism they cannot be beaten. I just wish they didn't own all our cinemas in the UK and European and UK films got more of a look in. It's a shame they make so many inferior remakes and settle for sub standard accountant driven movies targetted at 15 year old boys.

It's great for the films that come out of it, but not for all the millions that line everyone's pockets as a result.
