Read the manual before you play, everything important is in there. Then just have fun with the game and figure stuff out as you go. Start with a one person family to get familiar with the game. It's really not complicated and if you had the sims 1 then you'll have no problems. Great game by the way, you'll love it.
Oh and there are tips and hints in the game which will pop up as you play and explain what's happening.

There are almost no cheats or hints since it's only a stuff pack......but at this page are some codes but they are the same as on the previous games
