Too often we focus only on Racism, which the product of a myriad of underlying issues of education, class and personal experience. We often consider cultural and national differences acceptable grounds for discrimination, however. The truth is, they are all dangerous for one reason - prejudice, that is judging people without having the facts. Judging people based on biological or geographic criteria (which no one decides, people are born wherever they are born) without taking into account the merits of a person's life, actions and general existence.
Racism can never go away, as long as there are differences there will be people exploiting and discriminating on the basis of those differences. What we can do is keep a watchful eye and confront these beasts wherever they rear their ugly heads.
Oh, and focus on the solution: Education, Education, Education.

i have got to agree with you. i think it is on the rise once again because AMERICANS refuse to treat people truly equally. for instance, i work for this company and i am the only black person working there. my salary is really great but there is a lot of hidden racism there that they think i don't know about. the co. always has co. meetings at certain COUNTRY CLUBS that are known for being like the KKK and i guess they would expect for me to go and be comfortable. yeah right.
this kind of stuff happens all the time yet people say we all are treated eqally and the like. i really am beginning to hate america because it is so racist. however i do still love the people in america.

I don't know that racism is on the rise, but it has something to do with human nature. Maybe we can try to do our best. Regarding America, it seems that the country is moving in a somewhat concerning direction. It seems that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer... racism, prejudice, animosity, mistrust, social classes all seem to be evident. Popular culture, media, mental health, materialism, justice system, education system, morals... where is this all going?

Ok, Again I will prolly get reported for violation, but you asked so here's your answer. I don't think racism is on the rise, I think it's stayed the same, minus the whole blacks on the back of the bus stuff. America is not full of Americans or people of european decent. It's full of mexicans that want us to speak there language, and take care of them, damn right I'm racist. I lived in Florida where there are more mexicans than I ever saw before, and couldn't go to work without getting proposed to by random strangers looking for a green card. They are abusing our public aid systems, not paying taxes, taking our jobs, taking housing from us, it's unfair, not to mention all the crimes they are committing. And I can't even comment on black, because they all run and cry to the "report abuse" link if you say anything about them, but they are not innocent. They, and every other minority in the country get special treatment because they are at a disadvantage...my @$$, you people can get a free ride thru school, while I work my @$$ off and get no financial aid at all. Affirmative action is a bunch of BS. You people don't have it so bad, so if you wanna gripe and complain, why the hell don't you move back to your homelands, and see what kinda life you would have there. Atleast here us WHITE people cater to you, and you still treat us like crap, and think we owe you something. Why the hell don't you show some ambition and do things for yourself. I did, because i had no choice. Go back to Africa, and you will have so send, "spam" in the form of scamming americans for there bank account information. Yeah you have it real bad here, and us whites are to blame. And to all you mexicans, SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE if you think of staying here. We're not making a spanish version of our national anthem.

I am a light skin Black American female. I was born with a lighter skin tone because of my African ,American Indian and Irish mix blood. Some of my closest friends and neighbors are Caucasian and I have just as much love and acceptance for a white person than I would a black person. I do not believe in mixing our races together. God made Black & White. We can all live together without mixing the races. White and Black People united as one without mixing our races together. Remember Old America when it was just Black and White! America now has other races that own the America we are still fighting over! Black and White need to reunited! The Black and White war is long over! We now have other issues to be concerned about. You see White American's standing on a street corner with a sign "I will work for food" Have you ever seen a person from a foreign country standing there begging for food and money? No. Focus on the real issues
Black & White America!

I think racism is not on the rise... i think its getting more publicity. The ignorance has always been there.. and sadly, probably always will... more people are recognising it now.. which is a good thing. Only when our society recognises and bands together to abolish the problem, will racism stop.

i have been around so much racism you wouldnt believe - its a filthy disgusting narrow minded view of life - i think it has to do with jealousy in a lot of ways - also the lack of understanding another culture - naivety based on one not knowing enough about other races.
its fear of the unknown etc etc etc - i'm not saying we should all run out now and befriend someone of another race - but its nearly year 2007 - shouldnt our minds be a bit more open?
racial equality is a good thing - not racial supremety! maybe you will find this brought up alot in your answers!!!!!

The causes are the racist government with the assistance of the newspapers without realising the conclusion. There is only one answer anyone who has been oppressed to refuse to take part in any war. Let the neo-con and nazis go fight it. I believe the conclusion is just around the corner.
