Another question re: abortion reminded me about something that I always found puzzling. I've found some women very stubborn to the fact that it's their body and they will not consult the father, that he has no say.

However, what if technology (distant future) made it possible for there to be a 50-50 chance of either the male or female to carry the baby? Some males in the animal kingdom have that responsibility now. So, if the man got pregnant and wanted an abortion...ladies, how would you react?

I don't want any, "I'm against" this and that. I'm a liberal and don't "get" abortion myself, but I would fight for anybody's personal rights to chose how they want to live their lives.

In a perfect world both the man and the woman would have equal rights to choose TO HAVE A BABY and never be faced with choosing to kill it after it was conceived.

With contraception so freely available it is hard to believe that we still get pregnant when we dont want to have a child, isn't it?

There's a flaw in the question.... They are not men, they are cowards...they tell women to have an abortion I think a lot because it's not their body, therefore they don't feel the guilt, shame and sense of wrongdoing as much as a woman would. What these cowards don't see or realize is that they are killing their own flesh and blood......Unfortunately it seems in most cases they would rather pass that wrongdoing, guilt and shame of going through with the abortion onto the woman. Abortion is wrong...it takes life from a human being and most women carry a great deal of guilt and shame, some fall into depression and for many it never goes away....Once such a decision is made, you can't go back and fix it, so DO NOT have an abortion. It's better to have the baby and then decide for example for financial inadequacies to give the baby up for adoption, but ABORTION IS WRONG. Don't listen to this person telling you to do something so horrific and wrong and God is watching. He has given you this human being and ABORTION IS MURDER. The procedure itself is so so horrific, it's more inhumane, it's just UNBELIEVABLY horrible, it's a human being!. ok....I just realized you are a guy....anyway....my answer is that these cowards don't feel the guilt or shame because it's not their body and they are not man enough to take on the responsibility of raising a child mostly due to the fact that they are still like children themselves, they are not men.

What a horrible society that would be. We would really be at war then, there would be no need for a mate of cooperation, not just for sex or mating, but for communication of a oneness. The whole idea you have really sucks, no offense, but the whole idea is to get along with each other and not have children that are not wanted. Having to willing parents to share in the upbringing and we still have not achieved that simple process, mostly because we have not realized the world is about being loving not robots, just flopping here and there getting pregnant when you want and when you dont want just kill it off. Man would have it no different than women it would be worse. You are talking about a gay man if he were to have children because that is the female species with the feminine genes. So what you are saying is to make a man into a woman. Well dear they are already here, now you want them to get pregnant? Wow what a sick world that would be. I do believe in this new generation they are so desensitized to love and marriage, loyalty and honesty, that if it does not fit your fancy then we will just change it all to suit us. Well sorry that does not work and it never will. Not everything is about you or me it is about truth and reality. Men and Women need to be more responsible and I mean Men and Women not little boys and girls.
It should be a that any girl getting pregnant should be frowned upon if she has no father for that child, because there is a thing called birth control. So for her to have an abortion because she feels that is a way of birth control that is insane. And she is trash.
What a pig.

I'd say, let them have their abortions if they choose to. It's their body and their life.

This is what a pregancy means (even if you decided to give the baby for adoption as soon as you give birth):
- 9 months of huge belly, possibly feeling sick all this time
- interrupted (or terminated!) career
- all the social ramifications - all your family and frinds will know and perceive you differently

Other gender that doesn't have to carry the pregnancy to term doesn't get to deal with ANY of it, so I don't think they get to choose for someone else to go through all of the above. If they are desperate - there are some women out there who are willing to carry their baby for money. This is where they should turn, no need to pressure their GF or ex-wife or whoever that may be.

Let me pose it differently: how should women react if the father of the unborn child demands the abortion? It's his baby, too...

IF it were possible for men to have children I can tell you this...there would be a lot more choices fro men with regard to birth control and most guys would almost always demand it...personally, I don't think there is a man alive that could handle being pregnant, I mean yeah,. a guy can run 20 miles on a broken ankle no problem...but let his back started to hurt from the extra weight and it'll be like..."Honey...rub my back...honey my feet hurt...honey...my nipples are sore..." and lets not even talk about the dleivery...no...pregnant men will not happen...

That whole pregancy thing....Hey it's all yours...I got way too much respect for the ability to withstand the physical effects to make light of the subject...or to even consider the idea that any man could do it...

Believe me NO man could ever do anything THAT beautiful....

I am strongly pro-choice. I believe that it is SOLELY a woman's right to choose UNTIL science allows men to have kids. I've ALWAYS answered abortion questions this way. I definitely do believe that men can and will have kids in the future. In fact, there is male pregnancy experimentation going on right now. However, until that day comes, it's totally the mother's choice.

If men could get pregnant then we would have a valid say in the abortion debate>except if the child is half of me> then I should have an equal voice

LOL!!

First let me say that a man is not "man enough" to be a woman. First time we had a period with cramps, we'd cry like babies! Second, if there were a CHANCE that we could become pregnant and bear children, the amount of sex would probably sharply decrease and the birthrate worldwide would PLUMMET!

You would also see an increase in birthcontrol measures.

God made it so women could have children because He knew that men just couldn't take it.

LOL!

I find it hard to believe that men will line up in droves to impregnant themselves.......but if it is possible in the future for men to concieve and deliver..hopefully there's a really sure need for it.....like the world population came down to a million......or women couldn't bare anymore....aren't there enough unwanted babies in the world?......oh to your question....abortion a very emotional issue.....a adult woman who chooses to abort should keep it to herself why even discuss it with anyone?.....why burden the father and those close to you with a choice you know will devaste them?.......so if men in the future abort keep it to yourself.....
