Well aside from the physical thing of the penis becoming engorged with blood, growing to it's full length and getting hard there are other things that happen.
Some guys go through all sorts of manouvers to hide them while other guys love to show them off. Some guys get to have sex while other guys masturbate. Some guys measure or compare them whiel other guys hide in fear.
Reality is all normal healthy guys who are into or past puberty will get ereceions and they need to realize an erection is a perfectly normal form for the penis to take on occasion. Everyone needs to realize that an erect penis is not necessarily a sign of being turned on sexually; it could be from something as simple as embarassment at being observed naked. In addition, most people know what a penis is and looks like, both limp and erect, so there is nothing actually in need of hiding or feeling embarassed about. So I say, if you get hard, enjoy the feeling, don;t bother tryign to hidse it and just carry on as if everythign is perfectly normal (which it is). Also, although I don;t particularly suggest flaunting it, at least be happy and proud that your penis is healthy and normal.
