In monetary terms estimated at between $15,000 and $40,000. Germany has paid more than $54 billion in compensation to Holocaust survivors since World War II. Any money received will not be taxed. A lot of the artwork that was looted and sold during the German occupation is also being confiscated and put back into the hands of the rightful owners or heirs.
