no, hip hop is not dead. you just have to search farther than mtv and the radio. try immortal technique, jedi mind tricks, jurassic 5, dilated peoples, hieroglyphics, andre nickatina, the living legends, to name a few.

It's deffinately lacking a fresh edge. I think it's more of a cultural landmark now, but still a big industry. I think people that dress, and act hip hop now look more out of place then say in 2000.
