Because it's mostly them that are doing these terrible things. These people bring it on them selves. And the black and white issue has been around forever, it's never going to go away. I am not for interracial couples, but that's just me. It has a lot to do with how people were raised, and certain things that have happened to them over time. People for opinions based on actions. Every one is racist in one way or another or towards one group of people, whether it be blacks, white, men or women. Having to hire a certain amount of minorites, at a company is accepted racism. Gay rights is being racist. If you have to treat people differently, it's is racism. If we were all treated equally bye each other, the governemt, and so on then there would be a lot less of it. But that then would be called communism. I'm going no where with this really. I have too much too say and not enough time. Racism will never go away. Neither will sterotypes.

The newspapers are blaming the Muslims for everything that goes wrong in this country without realizing the consequences. People cannot put themselves in Muslims shoes. I cannot see any Muslim, black person or minority fighting for this country even if they bring back the draft after this kind of racial abuse. I would definitely refuse and would state the reason why. I believe the racists are scared of what's coming and of the mess their government's caused around the world, but would rather blame blacks as that is the easy option. I think that the minorities have been oppressed enough, I look forward to meetin the BNP and their racist police friends on the street.

I would have thought that the Muslim Extremist image was on the decline just for PC's sake.
Everyone's racist to a point, especially if you live in a more ethnically diverse area where it's easier to observe more subcultural groups up close and personal. I don't hate any ethnicity for ethnicity's sake, although there are attributes of some groups that I'm not a fan of. That said, I'm not going to go out beating up people who belong to these groups because of a few things that get on my nerves. THAT is what racial tolerance is supposed to be; allowing different ethnicities the same rights you want/have, even though you may not like it.

friend the only thing to do is put yourself / wife / kids in a group of people that do not and (hopefully)never will contribute to racism and just try to live your life with that thought..
I`m an American living in Germany and it is hard enough to live here as an American but I´m also Jewish, so now you get the real picture....
yes racism is on the up rise and no it did not ever leave......
note to anyone that is reading this: if you do not like someone because of there skin color, place of birth, way they talk ect... then put your self in there showes for a day and see how many people do not like you... racism is not some thing like a cold it is learned from our / your perants.........open your minds and then open your hearts and let the hole world learn to be at piece with eachother...........

I don't know that there is any connection between Muslim extremist groups and you receiving dirty looks. I know that from personal experience that your situation is not liked by everyone. It's possible you just have encountered some more racist people, or just didn't notice them. I'm in the US and racism can be found anywhere. To answer your question, no I don't believe there is a connection, I think racists are just racists, simply put.

racism never left, it just discipated some, but now i think it is getting stronger as it was back in the 40s-50s. im not being racist, but whites feel they are the leaders, the strong ones on top, and now we have all these different nationalities coming up in the world who are able to do just as good if not better than the whites. everybody has the same kind of intelligence as each other, its just how you go about it. every race has their low lifes and every race has their rich. but the ignorance in people cause them to feel that if one person of any race does something horrible, then they are all to blame. you have have a black gf? be proud, don't worry about others around you. its you that will be part of changing the world. good luck hun.

i don't know where you have been but sweetheart racism is something that we will always see because close-minded people will always practice it and pass it on to the next generation of idiots who cannot accept people for the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.
i myself love diversity, and adore the different cultures. i think it is really important that WE as AMERICANS put the past where it belongs and try to move on to unifying ourselves to make the world a better place.

Racism never left. We have too many ignorant people here. Too say everyone is racist too some extent is foolish. No one trait is held by everyone. That is like saying everyone is tall or homosexual in some way. Racist people just feel bad that they are deviant and want to pretend that their deviance is shared by all. It's called guilt. I know plenty of people that aren't racist in any way, most of them have never been to the USA and come from better backgrounds than here. But there are plenty of Americans that aren't racist and society makes sure these people are never heard or get ahead (they're called Black people).

You speak as if it ever left. There are 2 types of racism. Blatant and Subtle. Hatred IS Hatred, whichever one is used, whether it is voiced or not.
