Why is it that the winner every year is a cricketer? I would think girls would be better dancers than men. I think somebody like say Emma Bunton should have won.
Next years winner Freddy Flintoff (England cricket captain) ?

Well, let's face it - they're NBG at cricket, so by the law of averages they've GOT to be good at SOMETHING ! !
Happy Christmas!

The first two series female celebrities did win. As it has increased in popularity it has become more of a popularity contest, the voting public is largely women, and women tend to vote for men, which is why men generally do better in all reality TV shows. Emma Bunton didn't stand a chance although her dancing was certainly of a standard to win the competition. This year I think Mark did deserve to win but last year I felt both the 2nd and 3rd placed celebrities danced better than Darren Gough.
For the next series they probably won't have a cricketer take part, either that or one that is a really terrible dancer in the hope that he goes out in the early stages.

I agree that Emma should have won, but Mark and Karen was my fav in the beginning. In the first two series an newsreader and a actress won. The first SCD Natasha Kaplinsky won, the second series Jill Halfpenny won and Jill was the best dancer in the whole Strictly Come Dancing! And none of them were cricketers. It depends if next year's cricketer is good, but last year i thought Colin would win, so I was gutted :( but this year I wanted Mark to be in the finals and I wanted Emma to win, so I am happy that Mark won

As many people have already said, it may be down to the desire to win and the ability to put all their effort into the training.

I do not think Emma should have won. Yes she was technically good but there was no "wow factor" in her dancing. I can think of at least three of Mark's dances that had me on the edge of my seat.

The celebrity women do not have it harder than the male celebs - they have it much easier. The male celebs do not just have to learn how to dance, they have to learn how to lead, which is very hard. The female celebs get led around the floor and have their professional partners to cover any mistakes. I talk from experience - I'm a female salsa teacher and freqently have to dance the man's part when teaching - it's hard!

Perhaps its the sportsmens desire to win, and they are not afraid of hard training. To achieve what these guys do in such a short time is little short of a miracle, I think they do an incredible job. I have been in dancer in my younger years and its hard, heart breaking , gruelling and one has to be dedicated and probably a bit of a nutter !!!

After the England team's efforts recently might I suggest their ashes for the prize next year.

Hardly every year! This year and last year...

You can hardly call Jill Halfpenny a cricketer!
