The best College game was probably Nebraska v.s. OU in 1971.
Nebraska had a 29 game win streak; the game was played at Owen Field in Norman, Oklahoma.
This is still the most watched College football game of all time with over 55 million viewers; at that time almost a 1/3 of the country watched. It was played on Thanksgiving day.
Johny Carson and Dick Cavett; both Nebraska alums; talked about the football team often;
Both were ranked 1 and 2 for most of the year and they both flat out dominated everyone. They had the greatest rushing attacks maybe in history.
It was high scoring, with each team going back to back, with Johny Rodgers famous punt return giving Nebraska the lead after Oklahoma took it. A late Nebraska TD pulled out the win in what many called the game of the century and the greatest game ever played.
Nebraska and Oklahoma went on to destroy Alabama and Auburn in the Orange and Sugar bowl respectively, 38-6, and 40-22 to prove their dominance.

OU v/s texas 1996
The Sooners were 0 and 4 and a 22 point underdog and then beat the horns in OT...
Back to reality. OU Nebraksa 1971.... Both were dominate and ranked 1 and 2 for the year..... Interesting question who was number 3?????? Colorado a two loss team. Lost against OU and Nebraska. The Big 8 finished 1, 2,and 3 that year. So with that in mind how could it be anything different....

I would desire to throw the 2007 Fiesta Bowl into the ring. Boise State over Oklahoma 40 3-40 two. the element unfold became in basic terms 9 yet OU became one fluke play in Oregon from having a say on the national Championship. OU has won 7 national titles performs interior the super 12. Boise State on the different hand in basic terms got here in to D1 soccer 10 years past and performs in a plenty weaker convention the WAC. even however the recreation began out interior the super for BSU leaping out to an early 14-0 lead interior the 1st quarter the recreation ended with performs which legends are made. All and all to no longer a lot of people out element of Boise theory that the Broncos stood lots of a huge gamble against the Peterson and his Sooners. vast disenchanted and super recreation I say the wonderful of all time.

I'm going to go with USC v. Notre Dame from last year. That one was really exciting with lots of lead changes. And that audible to Dwayne Jarrett on 4th down and then the "Bush Push." I think that game gave me an ulcer.
Sure there are probably some great older games out there, but who remembers old stuff?
USC v. Texas was super-fantastic. It definitely has a leg up on USC/Notre Dame that it was for the national championship. But I can't pick it since I attend USC and we lost, so in my mind the game was terrible. It still pisses me off to think about it. DAMN IT WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME RE-LIVE IT.
