I have been creating artwork in various kinds of media, from drawing and painting to glass-blowing and photography and now digital images. I have always wanted to work for myself and have decided to make a go of it as an artist. I'm not sure what field yet, but I have been doing alot with digital imagin since it really doesn' take much as far as raw materials. I am working on a wesite and have most of my work on www.Zazzle.com (under ElectricArt) but I don't know where to go from there.
Can anybody give me any advice?

The fractal art that I put up on Zazzle is just the begining of it, to get my feet wet and my name out there. I have ray-traced artwork also. My question wasn't really about the digital artwork though. More the actual 'real' artwork. Like glass sculpture and drawings/paintings.

create your own website and put all yur work pictures. make a gallery sorta thing. hire a place doesnt have to be expensive, put your work neatly and try to do an exhibition. invite people you know, advertise in a newspaper, or any cheap media. make banners, give out brochure....think it as an investment. untill and unless people don't know about you, how will you ever be able to sell your stuff. advertise your website as well in such manner!

One thing to consider with your style art is that it appears to be made on the computer with a program that does all the art creating for you. You just click a button and the computer filter/program makes the fractal art.
Anyone can do that. Anyone can make basically the same art and print it out themselves.
Why buy it when one can do it themselves?
An artist must create their own style - something new and different.
How have your sales been on Zazzle? That is a first indicator of the interest in people paying money for your art.
Check out the link to see some of the competition.

I don't know how much this will help but... The best way to get discovered nowadays is through the internet, such as done by hoobastank, artic monkeys etc. Your work is on a website already, so that's good. Maybe you should expand and put it in more places to get the extra exposure, like deviantat.com. hopefully you'll get fans of your work and you'll be discovered. Enter in as many art contests as possible where you are, no matter how small. Who knows who might just come by. Don't be afraid to make your own showings, find a place to put them on display if you can afford it. Advertise like crazy. Starting up requires great financial sacrifice. hopefully it'll pay off.

this is in straightforward terms a subject count of inner maximum selection. you could carry out a little ingredient in acrylics which you will do with watercolors, and between the mandatory issues you're able to do with oil portray. the single actual know-a thank you to grease portray is which you will make thinner and thinner hues of a shade to characteristic a semi-clean result to a painted merchandise. In acrylics this could't be finished, as a thinner acrylic won't adhere to a thicker acrylic below it. cleansing up with maximum oil paints demands very poisonous chemical aspects. despite the fact that there at the instant are soy based oil paints which would be wiped clean up with cleansing soap and water. Have relaxing portray!

Check in with people at sidewalk art shows, to get in with big ones you have to have great work and reputation, but many small mall shows are not as picky.
By asking the artists at the shows they can let you in on the places where show promoters in your area advertise to get people for their shows.
First though you need a coherent body of work, computer art and Fractals especially will get little respect, even when deserved.
If you find a medium and learn it well and develop its potential you can do well, if you have too many "styles" or mediums you will not do so well, even if it is more deserved.
The art is 1% inspiration and 99%.perspiration, to make a living at it is 10% art and 90% marketing. So don't think that a great artistic idea will start the cash flowing by itself.

You can sell your art online, through an independent online marketplace called etsy. ( www.etsy.com ) Seriously, you can overprice your stuff, and people buy it because they're stupid. Ahah. If you're successful, you can sell thousands of your art prints for $15-$25 each. And originals may sell from $50-$100.
