I like to visit family. But sometimes I wish I could just stay home all alone.

Personally, I visit. It's a time to be with family and extended family, if married. We spend to much time 'alone'. People you love and care about don't visit like they use to. The statics say that most people live and die within fifty miles of their birth place. My situation must be unusally then. Family member are spread all over this country, and I mean ALL OVER the United States of America.
Think about the last time you spent time with a 'blood-line' relative and asked about another member of the family; only to find out that they pasted away. Sad isn't. I lost an uncle on Christmas eve, when I was eight years old. Today I found out that my brother's girlfriend lost her brother yesterday. The last time she spoke to him was over two years ago.
If it were possible, I'd make this time of year a duo purpose event. We, my family, would spend it together as a family reunion and celebrated our heritage and the birth of Jesus Christ.
