And neither will Charlie Drake who died on Saturday.

He was a great man, loved his show when I was a kid, and 'My Boomerang Won't Come Back', was his most famous song. Lovely man, will be greatly missed.

If they show a special about him, do watch it.

Now I'm goimg to be really boring and give you the real answer. Boomerangs, as in the original Aussie Aboriginal version don't come back. They fly beautifully and curve in the air but don't come back. They're used to whack your dinner on the head! Sport boomerangs have a bend of 90 degrees or more. Launch them 45 deg into wind with lots of spin - then duck - good luck

That is because your boomerang was an imposter. Most likely a stick trying to pass itself off as a boomerang. This happens more often than you would think. Sneaky stick. There oughta be a law against it. Oh well that stick will get his....you know what they say...what comes around, goes around. BYE NOW

"My Boomerang Won't Come Back" is a hit tune by the English comedian Charlie Drake. Not sure of the year, but think around 1963-65.

Charlie Drake had the same problem but I guess he learned to throw it properly. Throw it as you would a Frisbee, angle it in to the air so that the boomerang acts like a wing.
Happy Christmas.

boomerangs are not supposed to come back contrary to popular belief as when they are thrown at the intended target - say a rabbitt ,- its supposed to hit the target . The aborigini would then collect the food and the boomerang .

Takes a few throws to get the hang of it. Sheesh, ask a 5 year old to show you.
If it doesnt work after afew throws, get another one, a beginner boomerang. Maybe you got the expert type. Kidding....
