Gorbachev is Russian and he was leading Russia during a tumultuous time, he can be credited with bringing much improvement for the average Russian with his
western friendly policies. My personal believe is that he was a good person who tried to help his people and lead them into Democracy.

gorbachev was the premier of Russia, and he is a native of Russia but lives in Czechoslovakia, or Yugoslovia?
He was a pretty good negotiator compared to the rest and was a little more modernized. He is a publisher of a magazine right now, and his partner was a woman who protested the existing government in Russia right now, and she was assassinated in Moscow in November outside her apartment for speaking against the Russian Premier, and they have armed guards protecting Gorbechev and his family 24/7 right now. So I would say he was okay.

Hard to answer. What end are you looking at it from? As a Communist end I would guess he was horriable. He destroyed their party. He brought a new freedom to the Soviet Union and ultimately brought the downfall of it. Brought in elections and other things. Was put under house arrest in a basically failed coup by hard-line Communists. If you aren't Communist though you could make the same basic arguement to say he was a good man.
