Excerpts of a conversation

Jon: ‘I have not seen you for the whole summer. What work have you accomplished ?’
Doe: ‘Well, I have tilled a strip of land and planted a basketful of seeds.’
Jon: ‘Then you have not passed the summer in idleness.’

Jon: ‘And what have you been doing ?’
Doe: ‘Taking a meal at midday and sleeping in the night.’
Jon: ‘So you too, have not passed the summer in idleness.’

"There is no essential difference between vigorous, complex action and quiet, simple action. So long as one uses the non-discriminating ordinary mindfulness everyday, then one would not have lived in idleness. Both vigour and quietude have their good qualities."

Absolutely, yes. Meaning, or more accurately put, Purpose, Is an essential part Of any life. And How Exactly could anyone with purpose In there Lives, Not Have Creativity in there as The bedrock Of said Meaning and Purpose? The definition of creativity is to be able to transcend the traditional, and How can One have Purpose and meaning without transcending The Boundaries and traditions In our everyday lives and Pushing forward towards a more well reasoned and better existence? I'm not certain I can even imagine a Life with Purpose and meaning but no creativity... Is That even Possible?

Enjoy, And Merry Christmas.

Just because the cat is viewed as a lower life form does not automatically preclude it from living a life that is unintelligible and therefore not being creative. Humans as a higher life form and therefore able to live creatively ? We need to ask the question of perception and reality.

Why bother with world needs ? "Babies just feel; when they are happy they laugh and when they are unhappy they cry. It is that simple. And this wisdom lies within all of us. The key is to validate our emotions and let them tell us when we are on our path and when we have gotten off. Teenagers are perfect rebels challenging all norms and stretch the perceptions of what is not only possible but also desirable. Young adults are perfectly equipped to learn critical thinking and make sound judgements bridging the passion of youth and the wisdom of adulthood. Young adulthood is characterised by the realisation that some of the authority figures they rebelled against as teenagers do posses wisdom after all."

Maturation as a metaphor is a process that we can observe in nature every day serves only to reinforce pre-existing ideas to live life creatively and effectively.

We all possess the wisdom of the baby, infant, child, teenager, young adult, adult and higher self within us, it is just a matter of recognising them and using their wisdom at the right time.

Creativity is total rubbish. Meaning is only relevant when implied on creativity or expressively said as such. The communist farmer instilled with values, brain washed that are not his, is perceived to be creative, when in actual fact a force of habit with varying permutations, contrary to popular belief for the need of creativity. He is seen to be creative in the way he plants a plant, but really is another random pattern. The random pattern is seen to make sense only because it is through the minds eye. Pure hocus pocus.

The will to live on the otherhand is a seperate issue altogether. What a load of fecal matter on the absurd pre-programmed answers here! Do we see a pattern because we want to, whether by consensus or simple deduction that for the nth time, a solution has worked hence assumed insurmountable and not able to be surpassed ? Perhaps traditional disciplines are no longer valid tools, indubitably remain the mainstay of traditional out molded thoughts that serve to regurgitate collective and individualistic solutions from a gigantic basis of folk myth.

It can certainly add to one's enjoyment, and tht of other's as well! (; That, however, is not the most meaningful aspect of life as intended by our Creator ...

No.. some of us are not creative at all, hence we just watch & enjoy creative minds at work.. its a happy life without much effort.... just being still can be more meaningful than trying to overwork the brain on what the next invention should be....seeing animals while on safari confirmed it .......

As you've got only ONE chance to do something with your life, yes, creativity is a must.
Without creativity we would still be living in caves, because there would be no architects. And ther would be no arts, no music, no religions.
To keep it short, creativity is the essence of evolution.

Not at all. My partner - now 87 and sadly totally disabled - has as much creativity as my woolly hat. But he was a fine mathematician, and finance - reading about it, thinking about it - gave meaning to his life which is quite different from my own very creative life.

As they say up north, it takes all sorts.

Meaning for who. Is creativity not largely an exercise of discovery using your own very personal jig saw pieces. It may be an extremely satisfying past time for you, but ultimately the meaning is yours and yours alone. What interpetations others put on them is an exercise of their own creativity, very little to do with you. So yes, you need to lead lofe creatively, in the broadest sense, in order to for it to have more meaning for you, but for the rest of us, it will still mean very little!
