Reduction of penalty is proper if castration is done for a child molester because it is a more harsh penalty than imprisonment.

No, since even castration does not cure pedophilia. Their hands still work even after castration, right???
Pedophilia is a disease that has no cure, and when children are molested they are likely to become child molesters when they grow up.
For these reasons, I think child molesters should get the death penalty!!!!!

No. I believe this is the wrong way to go. As I see it, the question is, if someone is willing to disfigure themselves for our sense of security, should that lessen their punishment?

Let me ask you this: If you were convicted of a crime, and were sentenced to ten years in the maximum security prison, would you allow your hand to chopped off to serve only three years?

What about other forms of mutillation? Why not eye-gouging? Whipping? Torture?

This is the essense of the slippery slope argument. If we allow a child molester to have a reduced sentence for being castrated, why not a allow a murderer to reduce their sentence through castration, or mutillation.

No, we should not start down this path.

absolutely no!! child molestation is a problem that has it roots in way above the neck not down below the belt.castration would not address the reasons why a person chose to molest a child in the first place. i would advocate for longer custodial sentences with alot of counselling instead.

I would absolutley agree with it, in most cases. There are always exceptions. If I could hit or harm anyone right now, a pedophile would be in my top three. Its disgusting, but if they were willing, that would show that they are trying to not be such a monster that their uncle/father/priest probably was. Very good question btw.

I also agree with Rostor. F*ck em. They destroy lives, destroy theirs. Eyes for eyes, and enforce the death penalty on certain cases. Search for the video of the father who shot the accuser from a payphone, makes you feel like justice was served.

No....it does not solve their problem . Castration is just a knee jerk reaction type of punishment.

It wont prevent them from further child molestation

No- molesters do more than physically abuse children, they rob them of the one thing that can never be returned, their innocence, children tainted, jaded and doomed for decades- why would you harm a child. molesters should be forced to endure a lifetime of torture, they should be mentally broken, they should face the overwhelming onslaught of insanity and dementia through the infliction of well orchestrated pain, they should face the pits of all damnation, they should witness the layers of their own depraved consciousness being peeled back using chemically induced cocktails so that they may witness the blackness of their soul. they should be left, savaged, wasted, wrecked, near death to walk the plains of deserts ravaged by nuclear winters, they should breath and die radioactively.

No. In the extreme cases they should be castrated and put to death. If anyone touched my six sons and daughters I would be the judge, jury and executioner. Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marsha, Jan and Cindy are my pride and joy!

No. There is no evidence that castration has any effect on a person's sex drive. They would still have the same fixations and would remain a danger to society.

No. Castration has little to no effect on sex drive. They will still molest, and now they're outta jail earlier to do it.
