B/c people come and go. Courtesy is very empty.

I agree with looking for answers, but sometimes, in some cases, it really means they are not being sincere. If you only cultivate relationships based around trust and sincerity like I do, its a lot easier to tell one way or the other. (I'll be the first to admit I don't have a tremendous amount of social contact with people, possibly due at least in part to my rather jaded mindset.)

Probably because most people are. I guess you've been hurt in the past by many people so its hard to trust someone, let alone, trust that they are being sincere. Plus is the people in your life are only there to get something out of you, I can understand why you feel that way. Surround yourself with positive people who do things because they want to and not because they want something in return.

It's easy for me to sit on the fringe and guess why, but that doesn't make it accurate. Two things that might be a factor are how you present yourself and self-confidence, which can be closely linked. Are you presenting yourself as a physical attraction? Unfortunately, a lot of women have bought in to this. I admit, it catches my attention, but my first thoughts aren't about who the person on the inside is. Do you display depth of character? Solid values? That's not to say they don't exist, even if they aren't readily observable. How about your overall level of self-confidence? If you spend a lot of time second-guessing yourself or doubting yourself it will show in your behavior and can lead to people thinking your not being straight with them. Bottom line, believe in yourself. We all have flaws and blow it on a daily basis. If you see some areas in your own life that need work, do it and don't worry about other people being critical of you.

That is exactly something that I have struggled with before. I felt that people were being nice to my face and mocking me behind my back. I think it is just an insecurity that needs to be worked on.

You should be a little guarded, but not that much! I think counseling would help you open up to people and believe them. I'm not trying to be mean. I like counseling.

Because people talk to you for one of the two reasons..either to benefit from you or to use to..wait, thats basically the same thing.

you should think positive!

if happiness can't start with yourself then who else could give you that?

maybe you're not taking care of yourself too, not giving attention to yourself and that makes you think that no one is nice to you..
