The *** itself will not harm you. It just gets reabsorbed by your body the same as when you have a wet dream. Depending on what physical action you are doing to hold it in, you might cause some damage to the muscle or other body part involved in the "firing process." This would be a question for your doctor or a urologist. But the *** itself definitely will not cause any damage.
Is there a reason for holding it in? Does it increase your orgasm? Or are you afraid of spilling your seed?

Just as Keyne (sp?) said the longer you hold it without cummin the better your orgasm will be, try this:
dont *** for a few days in a row I suggest a week (if you can hold out that long) and then masterbate and hold your *** in when your gettin ready to shoot and stop DO NOT ***, repeat your masterbating withoyt cummin for like5 times or so or how ever many times you want and then when your gettin ready let it rip and it will be the best feeling you will ever have..... just be carefull tho you may get blue balls which just plain old sucks because its painfull.... if you hold it in and don't let it out at all, the semen can actually reverse course and enter your bladder. this can cause an infection.
if you are just delaying the semen, you'll probably be alright.
so hold off for a bit, but then let 'er rip.
