Too many teen-age girls and kids under 15 as fans.. Squealing over John Cena.. They don t appreciate hard working wrestlers

A majority of his time in WWE Booker has been a heel. The few times that he was a face he got a great fan reaction

He was popular when he first came to WWE, especially when he teamed up with superstars like Goldust, Eddie Guerrero, and RVD, but when he brought Sharmell into the picture and the turned into the Booger King, That got annoying. He needs to drop the crown and bring back the spinnarooni and be a face again and then he will get more popular, he's still a great gifted wrestler, with tons of charisma, but his gimick is one of the lamest in WWE history.

SilentEvil is on the money... for the most part, it depends on that push. If they decide not to really push a character, they aren't gonna give you a lot of ring and promo time(like Cena is being given the Superman push) and build up your credibility by giving you lots of wins (unfortunately, like Miz and Umaga).
The character/ gimmick plays a part too... using the "King" role gave him so much more to do with his promos, and he had the talent to sell that character big time. There have been many wrestlers that come into WWE that don't make it to that next level, yet change their character or gimmick, and something just happens. Stunning Steve Austin, Rocky Mavia, Sparky Plugg...

He is as popular now than he has ever been. When he first arrived to the WWE he was alone and most of the fans didn't know who he was. It all has to do with who the company decides to push and until recently he never got a real push in the wwe.

Booker T was very popular because of his tag team duo with his brother forming Harlem Heat. Then he gained popularity when they broke apart. When he came to WWE he was riding solo, and there were already big names.
