What do you think it is like to be completely alone?

Why do you think that way? Alone meaning you have only minimal day to day interaction with people, such as a transaction at the bank or buying groceries, but nothing outside of that. I'm interested to hear what people have to say.

I mean to live that way.

I think it depends on the person. Some people really like solitude and others need a lot of interaction with others.

It would be terrible to be completely ALONE. I myself have never really experienced it in the way your talking about. I've always had someone who cared whether I was dead or alive. It may be Mom & Dad, friends, girlfriends, now my wife & kids, but there's always been someone. I think it would be scary to go thru life where nobody was expecting a call from you, giving you a call, wishing you happy birthday, hoping to see you at Christmas, missing you when your gone, making plans for the future together,etc....

Personally, I love it. I wouldn't recommend it to someone though. I believe it takes a unique kind of person to want to live like it.

Quiet and Peaceful.
Yet somewhat depressing and hard.
We need people in order to survive.

well, if you are alone and have trouble meeting new ppl, then you should try walkin' ur dog around your neighborhood[if ya have one] and that can easily start a conversation. but es, sometimes i feel alone, i mean, i cant get a stinkin boyfriend! :)

I think it would be OK. I feel that every now and then, all would need to talk to someone.
