Answer to this question Can be given in 2 parts.
First the competition for MS is all the vendors who have their proprietary products that provide user with error free and easy to use technology.Not that the ease of use has to do any thing with MS but it is the flexibility of the product for the users need that makes MS worrisome of the competition.This brings me to the second part i.e. the strategic behavior.based on the above mentioned concern MS has adopted an strategy of providing users with solutions which are well proprieties and though they are portable to any other solution very much a MS product only.That's how MS wants its products should be marketed just likes cars where one shoe doesn't fit all but has to bought according to the specification.
