I have this hamster it is a female and it looks like her cheeks are puffed? I guess you could say that it is all bumpy looking and if you like try to touch the "pouches" she does not like it at all. She is in a cage now with 2 other females do you think she is ok? Is she got stuffed pouches with pups or what? I could take some pictures of it if it helps any.

Hamsters have small inserts in their cheeks, almost like kangaroo pouches. I suppose in the wild this is a mechanism for rodents to store lots and lots of food at once and be able to transport it, to minimalize their exposure to danger (taking 1 food trip rather than several).

My hamster used to be able to get over 40 Cheerios into his face. He'd keep them there for a while and then deposit them into the corner of his cage and eat them throughout the day. Don't worry, this is incredibly common.

That's completely normal for a hamster to store food in her cheek pouches. SHe is just storing food in there to break it up so she can digest it. All hamster's do this, not to worry!

she is building a nest, and stores things she finds like small scrapes of paper etc. in her cheeks, and deposits it later in her nest...they use their cheeks as purses (carry things around)
