None of my outlets have reset switches. My breaker box doesn't have a reset button. I've turned off my main and turned it back on... nothing has worked.

I've searched my house from top to bottom for a reset switch and I can't find anything. Please help!

To expand on zen522's answer -- look on the GFCI outlet itself. There should be a small red, black, or white button that popped out when the ground fault occurred. Push it back in till it clicks and stays down.

Also, be aware that a DIFFERENT AC outlet may be in series with the one that has gone dead -- that may be the one that has tripped.

GFCI protected outlets must have a reset switch somewhere that is different from the main breaker box.

I just installed several GFCIs "up circuit" from several other plugs in a basement installation. If the GFCI switch goes all of the plugs in that circuit will go dead.

If you cannot find it I'll bet it is behind some furniture .. I have seen this also.

If you have checked the breaker and there is power going to the outlets. you either have an open circuit or there is a reset switch you have over looked.

check each gfci and reset the "reset " button on them...and possibly you have a gfci BREAKER which may need resetting... if this doesnt work possibly ONE of the gfcis are bad OR you have something shorting out the gfcs every time you try to rest it... so unplug everything first..

If you are pushing the button on the outlet and it will not reset, your outlet may need to be replaced.

there should be a reset. try pulling it out carefully not shocking yourself and check the back for a reset. you should just update with new gfci or have someone do it for you.
