I have 3 old one dollar coins. I believe they are morgan dollars...one has the year 1888, one is 1903, and one is 1925. Are they valuable?

There are online price guides you can use

So much depends on the condition of the coins. A rough explanation of condition is a rating between 1 - 70. 1 being the worst condition and 70 being the best. So you would need to know the condition in order to price the coins accurately. For a ballpark figure I will assume your coins are 45, "EF". You also need to know the mint marks (where the coin was made). This mark is found on the back side of the coin between the 'D' and 'O' in the word dollar right above the letters. If there is no mint mark then it was made in Philadelphia. If there is an 'O', it was made in New Orleans, 'S' is San Francisco and 'CC' is Carson City.

Let's for the sake of coming up with a number assume they are Philadelphia minted coins (EF45): 1888 is worth $19. 1903 is worth $63, and 1925 is not a Morgan but it could be a Peace Dollar worth around $16.

I made a lot of assumptions, just to give you a rough idea of what you might expect.

Did you check for mint marks, if any? On the Morgan dollars 1888 and 1903 it is on the reverse (eagle side) below the wreath, at the bottom of the coin. The 1925 is called a Peace dollar and it's mint mark if any is on the reverse below the word one. Value depends on grade. In reality there is no on line price guide, that will give you the bottom line. PCGS is a company that grades coins and that is there pricing, your coins are not graded by them.Your best bet is a local coin dealer. If he has been in business for a time and has a store he can be most helpful. You can get more money on on line auctions but you must know what you have and it is not as easy as a lot of people think. Grade is very important and with out seeing the coin or at least a scan, this is the best I can do. The 1888 and 1888-O are common, the 1888-S is rather scares but not rare, so has a higher value than the others. There is a 1926, 1926-D and 1926-S none are really scarce but the 1926-D in higher grades commands a nice premium. The letters after the date above are the mint mark if any.

hi!! it all depends on the condition of the coin and the mint mark. on your 1888 and 1903 it will be under the wreath on the back side. if there is no mint mark they were minted in Philadelphia.lets hope your 1888 has an "s" mint mark as that is worth some money.lets also hope your 1903 has a mint Mark as well, they are worth good money.the 1925 will only bring good money if it is uncirculated and a good strike. check the links I have sent you, this will help. have fun!!

= If they are in good enough shape to be able to read the words and see the images clearly, then they are most certainly worth much more than a dollar each. Look for examples on E-bay and compare theirs to yours.
