For me, infactuation lasts but a little while and then goes away...completely. True love goes far more deeper then just sex and you'll know because it gives you confirmation and assurance of where you are in your life....it just feels right! You'll understand and realize this when you have the opportunity to experience it.

i think infactuation lasts for a short amount of time, and love persists. so if you have felt strongly for a person for a long while then it's more then likely that you love them.

Infatuation is usually temporary and can cause you to act irrationally. True love is permanent and much deeper. It won't keep you from sleeping well at night and negatively affecting your performance at work or cause you to make risky decisions you wouldn't otherwise make.
You may not be able to tell the difference until either has happened at least once.

You will know when a crisis situation occurs. Infatuation will wear out with time while love increases with time.
