alright, my period is 17 days late, im on the pill and my periods have been regular for the last 3 years now..well until now that is. i took 3 hgt's came back negative, went to the doctor for a blood test and it came back negative. I dont know what is going on, i can feel a bit of pressure in that area and very minor cramps but no period...could the doctor's blood test still be wrong?

No form of pregnancy test is entirely accurate... and even when used absolutely correctly, the pill is only about 99.9% effective.

However, there are a lot of things that can throw off a womans menstrual cycle - these include things as simple as a diet change, or as complex as major stress issues...

Think through the past month and see if you can locate any unusual things that stand out - one of them might be the reason your period is so late.

Oh, exercise can also impact menstruation, and perhaps more importantly, dramatic weight change - particularly as seen in anorexia and bulimia can actually stop a period entirely.

You probably just missed a period and what you feel are the start of this months ovulation. Yes, the tests COULD be wrong but its probably just you. Every now and then women miss periods. If you dont get a period in the next two weeks go back to the Dr. for a recheck.

I thought that blood test were pretty accurate, but Im not sure on the accuracy level. As far as other test I know those can be wrong. I had six neg and was 6 week pregnant before mine showed positive. Just get retested in a couple of weeks if you havent had a period.

The doctor's blood test can't be wrong. Have you been under stress or ill recently? Those are two things, among many other things that can cause your period to be late. If you're getting cramps then you'll probably get your period soon, don't worry about it. You're not pregnant.

Probably not, you might be having something else go wrong. Are you under alot of stress lately? stress and other things going on in your life can affect your period cycle, I'd say give it some more time and if it still hasn't shown up go back to your doctor and get another blood test.
