through my whole pregnancy.. with both pregnancies.. I ate about half the portion size... but I ate 6 meals a day. As long as you are consuming enough calories (you only need an extra 300 a day when pregnant) its ok to eat however its most comfortable! When you are farther along.. there is less room in your tummy.. so sometimes, all you can eat is half a portion!

i didn't eat alot either. i ate because i had to get nutrients in my body for the baby. other than that i would have been good just to drink water and that being it but that's not good. in early pregnancy its the hormones in the body that cause the woman not to want to eat as much but later on it will be the baby pressing against the stomach that will cause you not to eat as much. so its not backwards because my midwife told me my baby was healthy and everything was ok after i told her i was having a hard time eating a full meal. she said to try eating smaller meals and snacks throughout the day so that you get nutrients to the baby

If you are pregnant, this is not abnormal. The first trimester can be different for different people. Just because someone is pregnant doesn't mean they get a montrous apetite.

Besides, smaller and more frequent meals and snacks are better than three big meals a day.
