Based on the historical infromation...it is most likely that December was the month that the Wise Men actually visited the family as they had seen, in the stars his birth which was what prompted them to begin their journey. and most likely the time frame for the journey owuld ahve had them in Behtlahem in December assuming that they he was born in the spring or early summer and they traveled the entire time. And while the exact date cannot possibly be known, the 25th, already being a celebratory festival time became merged with the new religion....

we don't have fun Jesus' birthday on December twenty 5th. We have fun the undeniable fact that he became born. We try this in step with the message of the Angels - that they extra tidings of "super exhilaration!". We coach our exhilaration by ability of keeping a social gathering. there is not any convincing information interior the bible from which any actual delivery date could be deduced. all the dates and a while given in scripture are approximate. classic shepherds in Palestine, the place winters are gentle and the grazing is at it superb, spend ALL there outing with their flocks. in fact, the summers are so warm and dry that the only grazing is got here across interior the better hills. the fact the shepherds have been close to city of Bethlehem shows it became no longer mid summer season (if the story isn't usually legendary interior the 1st place). the only reason some people have for claiming to have the flexibility to coach different dates is an attempt to discredit mainstream church homes, extremely Catholicism. there is an city fantasy that December twenty 5th became a properly-liked pagan pageant until now Christianity got here alongside. there is somewhat no historic information of this in any respect. until now Roman calendars of feasts coach NO pageant on December twenty 5th, no author talks approximately this style of pageant, however they say plenty approximately Saturnalia on December seventeenth.. So, whether December twenty 5th became the date of the solstice, it became no longer a important Roman pageant, however there would have been a minor social gathering interior the 4th century. So why could Christians chosen an important solar date to have fun the delivery of Christ? properly probable because of the fact, in accordance to the bible, the solar and moon have been created by ability of God as warning signs (for warning signs and seasons). they could have predicted the solar (or moon) to be in some way an indication of one of the wonderful activities in human historic previous.

The Roman festival of Saturnalia, which was their big holiday of the year, began roughly on December 23rd (earlier in the empire it was on the 17th) and ran for a whole week which included the 25th.
When the Emperor Constantine I held the first Ecumenical Council, the First Council of Nicea, they decided amongst other things, (like the divinity of Jesus) when to have certain holy dates. December 25th was chosen as his birthday because it would be easier for the population to convert from celebrating a God to celebrating the son of a God, because the date for them was already holy. It wouldn't interupt any other celebration and wouldn't take long to catch on!

Apparently Jesus was born around April-but since his death was already mourned around that time it didn't make sense to also celebrate his birth.

I don't necessarily disagree with your conclusion, but where did you get your quote from? I've never heard it before. Nor is there any record of the Gospels being used for promotional purposes by the Judean Date Marketing Board.
