This week, it was announced that this “apartheid” country is arranging for a Muslim prayer room at the new terminal at Ben Gurion Airport.

Just another in a series of activities to make Israeli Arab citizens feel more at home. An Arab language web site has already been unveiled and guide books and signs at the airport are already available in Arabic.

The most important thing to bear in mind is that there is no such place in the world as Palestine. Except for a city in Texas.

The actual word "Palestine" came from the Romans, not the Arabs, and there has never been an independent country or state of Palestine, nor a Palestinian rule. Yet we are led to believe that there are Palestinians and then there are Arabs.

In August 11, 1919 in a memorandum to Lord Curzon, Lord Balfour stated that "whatever be the future of Palestine, it is not now an 'independent nation,' nor is it yet on the way to becoming one". Professor of history Reverend James Parkes wrote in Whose Land that "before 1914, ... the mass of the population [in Palestine] had no real feeling of belonging to any wider unit than their village, clan or possibly confederation of clans". He stressed the point that "up to that time it is not possible to speak of the existence of any general sentiment of nationality".

MJ thinks that Israel does not supply religious services for its Jewish majority. This is patently false. The mosque at the airport joins a synagogue that was already there.

I understand that Israel is holy to the major faiths, and as such takes extra care to enable them to fulfill the religious precepts that they believe in. Some of the major churches, mosques and synagogues of the world are located in Israel. The only group that may not have full religious rights, believe it or not, are the Jews. They are denied entry to the Temple Mount, the holiest place in the world to the Jewish people.

But with this single exception, all religions have full freedom. Not like in an Arab country like Saudi Arabia, which forbids Christian prayer.

Yes true. But Arab Israelis still do not get many basic citizenship rights. There aren't any civil rights laws in Israel.

I would have to agree with Jimmy Carter's book. "Palestine, not Apartheid".

The Israelis have made the living conditions of the Palestinians into a living hell.
