Some of these bands aren't really what i'd call punk...
Alice in Chains is so far from punk, that'd fall in grunge rock.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - yeah you could call them punk if you're talking about their 80's stuff.

I need faster paced stuff. Will try listening to some of the newer bands mentioned to see if they're what i'm looking for.

these bands above aren't really pop-punk, more like punk- rock, emo, rock, alternative, etc which are different. Pop-punk is bands like son of dork, and busted etc.
