lenovo is IBM compaq is HP so take it from there to me no differwence but I lean towards HP.

Ishpreet, I would say Compaq, as lenovo is not part of IBM but compaq is part of HP. Lenovo has bought IBM's business in PCs and lower end Laptops. So better go for a Compaq, I my self recently took an HP laptop. Just because of this reason. Lenovo is a Chinese company and they have to prove their worth in after sales part. So I opted for HP and would suggest the same.

I've always been an IBM fan. They've always made well known products like the Netvista/ Aptiva series for desktops and the ThinkPad series for Laptops. Of all the PCs I've ever had (and I've had quite a few) IBMs were always excellent machines. They were fairly easy to service and were fairly easy to upgrade. I owned a few ThinkPad laptops and they're virtually built like a tank, rugged, sturdy, and strong. I dropped one once and the thing still fired up. As for Compaq (actually HP now since the companies merged some time back,) I've never been crazy about they're desktops, but they do make a pretty impressive laptop. I used to own a Compaq Armada M700 PIII laptop and it wasn't bad. It even had built in ethernet. Now that Compaq and HP are one in the same, I'd go with the Pavilions. As a laptop or desktop (the product line covers both,) the're good machines.

Lenevo - IBM, Compaq - HP. Both are good. But I like HP, for I chose to have one.
If you want some cool designs, go for HP; otherwise Compaq is good. HP has real cool designs. Ask for dv2000 series, if you are looking for a laptop.

I had 2 Compaq's and liked them both. I haven't heard of the other one.

In the world of computer,there is a tough competition between PC manufacturing Co.continuously they r concentrating to launch something unprecedented features in their product.big companies like IBM HP, they r best at their positions.now the question is that who's the best?as mentioned before they r best at their position based on their performance.both of them have a solid present in the market.for considering who's the best we should look into their "After sales Service" facility.If you consider the after sales service i"ll strongly recomend IBM is best in this sector.so if u buy a PC for a long term planning then go for IBM.
