A mythological lake monster that is supposed the live in the Loch Ness in Scotland. Or Nessiteras rhombopteryx as its scientific name. It is most commonly believed to be a hoax however some people still insist on its existence, the most popular species of choice being a plesiosaur

Many theories exist.

Some say it's a myth.

Some say it's an illusion.

Some think it's a plesiosaur, or a creature very similar.

Some think there used to be a plesiosaur or plesiosaurs in the loch, but they have now died.

There was also an old movie prop which was basically a huge plastic thing which looked like what people thought the loch ness monster looked like back then. The prop somehow sunk, and was never recovered. Some folk used to say that the prop floated to the serface every now and again.

Pranksters may occasionally rig something up to fool tourists.

Some say that they are other common large aquatic creatures which have strayed into the loch from else where.

Lots and lots of theories out there. We may never know.
