Yes, I'm very over it. Since Christmas morphed into a retail and gluttony festival, the true meaning has largely disappeared. The problem for me is that people still pretend that the madness we all endure each December is somehow connected to the birth of Jesus. In reality, Santa and all that stuff are just a means to promote consumption of things which are fattening and make us buy products we don't need. Gift giving to loved ones is great, but we don't need an excuse to do that.

I guess when you say: "...anyone ELSE.." this means you are. Well, you choose the way you feel, so be it. Some nice answers, but I will be happy when I stop reading the Gringes Grousing about Christmas every which way. I believe I saw miketwemi before, on a Christmas question, & "...make us buy products we don't need..." is the same old stuff. CHRISTMAS IS COMMERICIAL! SOME RAVE, as if buying was being forced down their gullets. Hokey as it sounds, "life" is indeed what we make it. Cheers to all the HAPPY people!

Yes, but I must keep the family happy. They LOVE Christmas. My older brother cried today because Christmas is not the same. What's the big deal? It's just another day.

No. I love Christmas because people actually behave better towards each other with the "Christmas spirit" and do other things that they don't normally do like donate to charities, etc.
